His one man play Live Bird, based on the life of jazz great Charlie "Bird" Parker, has been an integral part of jazz festivals around the country. Mrs. Doris Parker, Bird's widow, hailed Jeff's performance as "amazing" and "heartwarming," stating that "Jeff Robinson's portrayal of Charlie Parker was the man and jazz great that I knew...it was better than Forrest Whitaker in Clint Eastwood's film Bird!"
