As the back of his book The Rest of the Words indicates, two-time National Poetry Slam champion Taylor Mali abandoned the theatre and chose to pursue a career in poetry "because that's were the real money is." But he won't be halfway through his first outrageously dynamic poem before you realize that this classically trained Shakespearian actor has taken a lot of theater with him. Mali studied with the Royal Shakespeare Academy at Oxford University before conquering the Spoken Word/Poetry scene. Mali has released a poetry compilation CD entitled The difference between Left and Wrong and was one of the primary subjects in the 1997 documentary SlamNation.
