Tara Betts appeared on HBO presents Russell Simmons’ "Def Poetry" and in the Southwest VDay production of Eve Ensler's "Vagina Monologues" at Chicago's DuSable Museum. She has been featured on the Black Family Channel series "SPOKEN" with jessica Care moore and in the 1999 and 2000 National Poetry Slam Championships Tara represented her Chicago Slam Poetry team. She has gone on to perform her work in Cuba, New York, the West Coast and throughout the Midwest. Her powerful words and original flow have been witnessed at venues such as the Arie Crown Theater, The Museum of Contemporary Art, Studio Museum of Harlem and the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.
