DJ Spooky “That Subliminal Kid” aka Paul D. Miller is no stranger to the New York crowd. His written work has appeared in The Village Voice, The Source, Artforum, Raygun, Rap Pages, Paper Magazine just to mention a few. MIT Press published his first collection of essays Rhythm Science, in 2004. The book was included in several lists of the best books of 2004 such as Guardian Weekly and Publishers Weekly. Then earlier this year Sound Unbound, an anthology of writings on sound art and multi-media by contemporary cultural theorists was published.

Miller’s media art work has also appeared in a wide variety of contexts such as the Whitney Biennial; The Venice Biennial for Architecture, and the Ludwig Museum in Cologne are a few. In 2004 he had a solo show at the Paula Cooper Gallery in New York, Path is Prologue, which echoed his live music/theater/film performance “DJ Spooky’s Rebirth of a Nation”, which ran at the Lincoln Center Festival, in Vienna, and at the Spoleto USA in Charleston, SC all at the same time.
