Armed with an undergraduate degree from Barnard College, and an MFA from Ohio University, Koenig has taken feminism to a new level.
As the former editor-in-chief of Playgirl Magazine, she challenged a traditionally male-dominated industry with new ideas about what women want from a magazine. From that vantage point she examined the disparity in gender roles in American society.
Ms. Koenig is a highly requested media maven on women's issues, taking her compelling arguments to the O'Reilly Factor and Fox News. You may have seen her defending Britney Spears controversial MTV Video Music Awards appearance, or taking adult entertainment to the academic ranks and discussing the repercussions of offering university classes on the sociology of pornography. Ms. Koenig brings a fresh approach to a tired, flaccid subject by analyzing the "flesh business" through the lens of gender studies.
