Race and Religion Symposium: a Dialogue in Spoken Word In this combined presentation of spoken word and round table discussion, Global Talent brings together three spoken word artists of very different backgrounds to perform their politically charged poetry and to inspire dialogue with the audience. A standard lecture program often fails to engage students in the same way that performance can. To that end we have developed this program that incorporates positive messages while entertaining at the same time. Through the art of spoken word students gain a better understanding of race and religious issues in the current state of American politics. The program features three slam poets who combine efforts to deliver a powerful message.
