Shihan's slam credits include a featured spot on the 2000 Slamamerica Tour, a national ranking at the 2001 National Poetry Slam, appearances at The Public Theater in NYC and as the opening act for Grammy winner Alicia Keys. He has shared the stage with R&B legends Roy Ayers and Ollie Woodard as well as poets Nikki Giovanni and Amiri Baraka. Shihan has written for the NBA, Reebok and MTV's Rock the Vote campaign. He currently runs one of the largest poetry slams venues Da Poetry Lounge in California. Shihan has appeared on the first season of the HBO series Russell Simmons Presents Def Poetry, and will return for the second season of the acclaimed series.
